Mold Prevention Tips for Homeowners

Mold is a type of fungus that thrives in damp, humid environments. It can cause a musty smell and can be harmful to your health if inhaled. Mold can also damage your home, causing rot and structural damage.

There are a few things you can do to prevent mold from growing in your home:

1. Keep your home clean and free of clutter.

2. Fix any leaks or water damage promptly.

3. Ventilate damp areas, such as the kitchen and bathroom.

4. Use a dehumidifier in humid areas.

5. Clean and repair gutters and downspouts.

6. Inspect your home regularly for signs of mold.

If you do find mold in your home, you should remove it immediately. You can clean small areas of mold with a bleach solution. For larger areas, it’s best to hire a professional.
