Mold Prevention Tips for Homeowners

Mold is a type of fungus that can grow indoors and outdoors. It can cause health problems, so it’s important to prevent it from growing in your home. Here are some tips:

1. Keep your home clean and dry. Mold needs moisture to grow, so it’s important to clean up spills and leaks right away. Use a dehumidifier to keep the air in your home dry.

2. Fix any leaks. If you have a leaky roof, pipe, or faucet, fix it right away.

3. Ventilate your home. Open windows and doors to let fresh air in. Use fans to circulate the air.

4. Use an air conditioner or air purifier. These can help remove mold spores from the air.

5. Clean moldy areas with bleach. If you find mold, clean it with a solution of one part bleach to three parts water.
