How to Respond to a Fire in Your Home

If a fire starts in your home, it is important to act quickly and calmly. You will need to assess the situation and determine the best way to respond. Depending on the severity of the fire, you may be able to put it out yourself or you may need to evacuate and call the fire department.

If the fire is small and contained, you may be able to put it out with a fire extinguisher. If the fire is larger, you will need to evacuate immediately. Once you are out of the house, call the fire department. Do not try to re-enter the house for any reason.

If you have time, you may be able to grab some important items, but your safety is the most important thing. Do not waste time trying to save possessions.

Once you are out of the house, stay outside and wait for the fire department to arrive. Do not go back inside for any reason.
