How to Respond to a Fire in Your Home

A fire in your home can be a very frightening experience. However, it is important to stay calm and follow some simple steps to ensure your safety and the safety of your family.

If you discover a fire in your home, the first thing you should do is call 911. Then, you should evacuate the premises immediately. If you cannot evacuate, then find a room with a window and close the door to help contain the fire.

Once you are outside, do not re-enter the building until the fire department arrives and gives you the all clear.
