Handling Smoke Damage in Electronics

When a fire damages your home, the first thing you should do is call your insurance company. After the fire is extinguished, you will need to deal with the smoke damage. Smoke damage can be tricky to handle, especially in electronics.

The first step is to unplug all of your electronics. This includes your TV, computer, toaster, etc. Once they are unplugged, you will need to clean them. You can use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to gently remove the soot.

If your electronics are still not working after you have cleaned them, you may need to replace them. You can check with your insurance company to see if they will cover the cost of replacement.

If you have any questions about handling smoke damage in electronics, you should contact a professional. They will be able to help you determine the best course of action.
